Different Methods of Peer Counseling
have students assess behaviours, goals, and attitudes of their peers which leads them to start questioning their own traits and beliefs
-not in a means of comparison for the sake of making oneself feel better but rather as evaluation of a trait or belief

What is Peer Counseling?
a tactic to get students to have realizations about themselves through, but not limited to, sharing experiences and advice
Role of the Student
help in meeting the needs of other students through:
listening
conflict resolution
befriending
giving advice
being trustworthy
helping others realize THEY ARE NOT ALONE
Role of the Counselor
help in meeting the needs of the students through:
listening
assisting in conflict resolution
giving advice
being trustworthy
helping promote appropriate programs to students (ex. I am Stronger)
building confidence in students so they can help other students
