He helped invent an important style of painting called
Impressionism

Many of his paintings were scenic, a lot having to do with the ocean
Impressionism:
A style in which the artist captures the image of an object as someone would see it if they just caught a glimpse of it. They paint the pictures with a lot of color and most of their pictures are outdoor scenes. Their pictures are very bright and vibrant. The artists like to capture their images without detail but with bold colors.

1) Notice the ORIGINAL Monet Piece

2) Get your supplies (Table Getter's)
1 piece of card stock
painters tape
Painters Palette
Paint

3) Organize your paints

4) Follow step-by-step Painting instructions

5) Be an Artist, create a masterpiece!
BE and ACT like a Painter
Step 1 - Tape the bridge

With painters tape
On heavy card stock
Position bridge center, from side to side
Step 2 - Mix colors on your painters palettes to get different shades of blues and greens

Greens and blues for the water
Yellow and green for litter areas (ex: sun shining through the trees)
Step 4 - Once the paint is dry:
Add some water lilies at the bottom, still using the "dabbing" technique
THE NEXT DAY: Paint is COMPLETELY dry
Step 5: Carefully remove the painters tape
Step 6: With grey paint, add a little shading under the bridge
Water Lilies: Blend colors to create
Pink, white, purple color tones
Lighter color tones:
yellows
greens
Darker color tones:
deep blues
deep greens
