Poetry...Blah Bio My name is Miranda Lucas, and I don't really write poetry or read it. I like computers that don't tell me I'm stupid, air, water, dinosaurs, and tons of other random junk. I dislike the number 7, school, and physical contact, etc. ZOMG!!! Dum Dum DUMMMMMM!!!

Loss of Time

A forgotten time
A forgot society
A forgotten land
A forgotten people
A time of peace
A time of war
A time of grieving
A time of celebration
A time of loss
A loss of knowledge
A loss of dignity
A loss of loved ones
A loss of sanity
A loss of peace
A beginning of a new time
A beginning of new life
A beginning of new knowledge
A beginning of new peace
A beginning of new war
Its all a cycle
From a new beginning
To loss
To a time of difference
Till it is all forgotten
And a new beginning is forged.

Ankoku Gekido

I like this poem because it explains
the cycle of everything. Because
everything has beginning so it has an end. Drive Thru
by Nancy Ness
I rose this morn with much to do -
Hopped in the car and off I flew.

No time for breakfast, that I knew -
Glad "Dunkin DoNuts" has Drive Thru.

In need of dollars, quite a few -
Went to the bank teller's Drive Thru.

Then filled all my prescriptions too -
At "Pharmacy's" brand new Drive Thru.

Some bills to mail in box of blue -
Off to the "Post Office" Drive Thru.

Picked up the laundry cleaned anew -
Just stopped at "Suds & Duds" Drive Thru.

With lunchtime near, my tummy's queue -
Got a "Big Mac" from the Drive Thru.

The car by then was low on fuel -
Full serve at "Shell", just Drive on Thru.

And when they fill the tank for you -
Your car's washed free - in their Drive Thru.

Library books were overdue -
The curbside slot is a Drive Thru.

Then videos must go back too -
"Blockbuster" has their own Drive Thru.

In need of milk and bread, I knew -
I stopped at "Dairymaid's" Drive Thru.

The family asked "Please, can we do -
The "Drive In" show when dinner's thru
Collected Poems Haiku-Eat a Dinosaur

Eat a dinosaur
Before it eats you. Stab it
With a giant fork!

Media Mind-Control
A little boy watching television
'Batteries not included' influences his decision
On his new G.I. Joes
The T.V. he is staring at should be one of his greatest foes

'Oh that, that's not cool anymore.'
Because the man in the box said moments before
Lets shell out our money to mass corporations
Before we even think about it, we are set in animation

'I'm so ugly. I'm too fat! '
There's nothing wrong with her; why would she say that?
The flickering, bright box is full of ladies with perfect elegance
But examine them more closely; some are not worth the glamourous romance

The media is our slave and master
Pulling us with much rave and faster
It is mind control, no subliminal messages involved
Just hearing it broadly and the problem is solved

Dillon Gay
BLAH BLAH BLAH
I know that you are talking
Got some new alibi to bring
My feet feel like walking
And I can’t hear a thing

The only sound is blah, blah, blah
And it doesn’t mean a thing
So to you I say hah, hah, hah
You no longer pull my string

DAKOTA AUSTIN
The Dream

by Shakeel Hussain

I had a dream I was in a beautiful garden
I picked a red rose amongst the flowers
Suddenly my sight drifted towards a mysterious person
She was staring at me in anger
I thought to myself... What harm have I done to upset this person?
Her facial expressions increased with anger
She walked towards me slowly getting closer
She then shouted "GET UP!!"
I noticed my alarm clock the time was 10am
The mysterious person was my Mother
I was again late for school
Poetic Elements I like this poem because its how things really are. Everyone is always so busy that they don't even have time to get out of the car while running errands. Dinosaurs are awesome, thats why I like this poem. I like this one because the media does play a big role in how we think. Well this happens to me a lot, so I can relate. Poetic Elements I can really relate to this poem. Personification:

Picture Perfect
© Annabel Sheila
She stood there by the ocean,
The breeze gently lifted her hair.
Of that seagull just above her,
She was totally unaware.

Seemingly floating in the sky,
The seagull’s wings were still.
I think it paused to take good aim,
And drop a mess at will.

Too late she looked above her head,
Where the seagull hovered now.
Then as I watched in horror,
Bird droppings hit her brow.

Her scream pierced the balmy air.
Splat! The stuff hit her face.
Then she saw my camera and me,
And stomped off in disgrace.

Writing Block
© Rebecca
I can not write a poem; my brain feels fried.
It can do no more.
It is as though all my creativity has been trapped, isolated in a room without a door.

I feel no inspiration, no ideas are coming to mind.
And as I hold this pen in my hands I can form no words on the lines.

When I think I'm finally on to something it quickly leaves my brain.
Leaving me frustrated and thinking this is all in vain.

So I'm sorry if you wanted to hear a poem that surprised or shocked
but I just can't give you one, for I have WRITER'S BLOCK!

SENSES

Sadness is as happy as laughter.
You might cry because it hurts.
You might laugh because it hurts.
But I know one thing,
laughter is laughter and sadness
is sadness.
They can show the
same things like
hurting and gladness.
Dawn (free verse)
The depths of darkness
and the heighths of light.
Those I love are in the light
but darkness is my nature.
I don't want to walk
the path to light or dark
I'm on the road in between
not the one to Nightfall
but the Way to Dawn

The author of this poem has a very laid back tone. Apostrophe: Media Mind-Control by: Dillion Gay
A little boy watching television
'Batteries not included' influences his decision I chose Dr. Seuss as my favorite poet, because I've read more of his poetry than anyone elses. When I was younger I had tons of his books. My favorite book written by him is "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish". However people are more familar with books like "Sam I Am", or "The Cat in the Hat".

Dino Rabies

I was once a dinosaur,
and I met this dude named Clyde.
He asked if I had a sec,
so I said "sure but only a second".
CHOMP!!! Clyde was munching on my tail
Everything went black..............................
....................................................................
I woke up to find myself walking, (where was I going)
Then CHOMP!!! I was muching on some poor fellow.
The ABC's of Misery

Abandoned, Agonized, Apathetic and Apart
Black becoming the color in my heart

Betrayed, Bleeding, Bitter and Broken
Violent cries being the only thing spoken

Calamity, Crushed, Confused and Cold
This pain inside, I can no longer withhold

Discouraged, Disheartened, Destroyed and Distressed
Suffering with the ache of true loves test

Exhausted, Emotionless, Embittered and Encased
Will the memories ever fade? Will they ever erase?

Frightened, Frantic, Falling and Forsaken
Body so weak, heart splintered and breaking

Grieving, Gloomy, Grumpy and Grim
No longer alive, no longer with him

Hopeless, Humiliated, Heartbroken and Hurting
Each breath I take my heart starts burning

Injured, Inconsolable, Isolate and Impatient
Please stop this pain, I no longer can take it

Jammed, Joyless, Jinxed and Jittery
His kiss and his touch will forever haunt me

Kaput, Klutzy, Kicked and Killed
Without his love, I have no will

Lonely, Lethargic, Lamenting and Low
The punch to my heart; an excruciating blow

Mourning, Mortified, Miserable and Mutilated
No longer feeling the happiness only he created

Nauseated, Nostalgic, Needful and Naive
My life has lead me down on my knees

Oppressed, Overwhelmed, Obsessed and Offended
Why can't my heart understand it has ended?

Punctured, Petrified, Paralyzed and Pained
So much left unsaid, so much left unexplained

Quiet, Qualm, Queasy and Quavering
This pain cannot hide, my tears no longer waiting

Restless, Ruined, Ripped and Resent
He stole my soul without my consent

Saddened, Suffering, Shocked and Still
Dreams and hopes never to be fulfilled

Troubled, Tormented, Torn and Throbbing
Begging to stop this uncontrollable sobbing

Unhappy, Uncomfortable, Upset and Uneasy
Heart feeling empty, stomach so queasy

Violated, Vegetating, Vindictive and Vex
The only man I'll ever love, has become my ex

Worried, Withdrawn, Wounded and Weak
Not able to be nourished, not able to speak

X friend, X lover, X hopes, X dreams
To get him back, I'd go through extremes

Yearning, Yelping, Yammer and Yelling
Will I make it through this day? There's no telling

Zip, Zilch, Zapped and a Zero
I'm nothing to him, yet he's still my hero....
