Leading Citizens Project
What is Learning?

Hannah Morgan
How can we learn?
-We can take time to try and figure out the world that is taking place around us and how it works
-Look at lessons you learn from things you experience in life and try to better apply those lessons to your life
-Develop different kinds of skills
-Some do better learning in a classroom, some don't do well learning in a classroom
-We can learn from other people and their examples
How does learning benefit us?
"All we can learn that is true while we are in this life will rise with us in the Resurrection. And all that we can learn will enhance our capacity to serve." -Henry J. Eyring

Why Learn?
"Learning is a fundamental reason for our being on earth." -Henry J. Eyring
When & Where Do We Learn?
-We learn everywhere and at all times
-If we didn't learn, how would we progress in life?
-We can learn by trying to understand the world around us and how it works
-Learning can also be getting to know and understand the people in our lives
-We are constantly learning new things, even if we don't recognize it
-We can learn from mistakes that we have made or trials we have gone through
As my leading citizens project I chose to read a book that talks a lot about learning and the importance of learning. The book talks a lot about major decisions you make when it comes to your educational career but also talked a lot about the real meaning of learning and how you can apply it to your everyday life, not just your college education. I decided that I would read this book and pick out a few pointers and good advice that I can share with others.
-Learning helps us provide for our loved ones, serving our fellow men and women, and preparing for our divine destiny
-We also learn to get an education which can bless us in more ways than just money and job security
-Learning and education is special and important to everyone but has a better impact on those who can see a deeper meaning and purpose to life
-We learn in every aspect of our life, not just in getting an education
-Heavenly Father wants us to go through life learning to help us become better
-Heavenly Father will bless us if we have a desire to learn
-As we learn about the world around us, we can gain a better understanding of things
-We will be blessed with great relationships as we take time to know, love, and serve those around us
-We can have great success in all aspects of our life if we put in effort to learn
-The more we learn, the better prepared we can be for the life ahead of us
-We can become a better person because of learning
The Purpose of Learning
(in my opinion)
The purpose of learning here on earth is to gain experience and knowledge of what our purpose is. Through this process we can come to know of the Plan of Salvation and that Heavenly Father has a plan for each and every one of us.
