Skin is very important.
It protects the body from outside harms.
It is the source of all touch related feelings.
It is divided into three main parts: the dermis, the epidermis and the subcutaneous layer.
Three Parts of Skin
Skin cancer
Skin is very important.
It is crucial to our lives.
We experience a lot of the world through our skin.
Uses of the skin
The epidermis
Outermost layer of skin.
Mostly made of dead cells on the upper layer.
It sheds quite often as new cell push up to replace the old cells.
The dermis
Below the epidermis.
Largest skin layer.
Holds pain, touch, and heat receptors.
also holds hair follicles.
The subcutaneus layer
Layer of fat underneath the dermis.
skin cushioning.
Skin cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells on the skin.
It is caused by DNA damage from ultraviolet rays.
How to prevent it
Do not expose yourself to large amounts of sun without sunscreen.
Don't use tanning booths.
Your skin color is your skin color, don't try to change it.
Keeps harmful germs outside of the body.
Cushions blows.
Takes the brunt of cuts and other things similar to them.
Heat is largely contained by the skin.
Most of heat loss is through the head (where the skin is thinnest.
Touch, heat, and pain
All touch related sensations come from the skin.
You also feel hot and cold sensations through the skin.
Signs of infection
Tumors or warts that grow rapidly.
Moles growing rapidly and changing color.
Moles and tumors that are large and ragged at the edges.

Drugs may be needed to cure it if it is very advanced.
