It was one of the top defenses of its time with linebackers Randy Gradishar and Tom Jackson, with Gradishar as a potential Hall of Famer. Other key Crushers were defensive linemen Barney Chavous, Lyle Alzado, and Rubin Carter, linebackers Bob Swenson and Joe Rizzo, and defensive backs Billy Thompson and Louis Wright and Steve Foley and Bernard Jackson. How it started

The Broncos first season was in 1960

The Broncos won their first football game against the Boston Patriots 13 to 10

The 1960 season ended with a 4-9-1 record which was last in their division the AFC West (AFC means American Football Confrance).

Their coach was Frank Filchock

They got their name from a pick a name contest

The Denver Broncos are part of the NFL ( National Football League) and are competitors in the AFC West
Denver's Time
In 1983 John Elway came to the Broncos out
of Stanford ( a college) they went to five
Super Bowls while he was in Denver, Losing the
first three and pulling out with two winning Super Bowls in a row!

These winning Super Bowls happened in 1998 and 1999 the first against the Greenbay Packers and
the second against the Atlanta falcons.

In 1995 they also got a running back named
Terrell Davis (one of the best running
backs of all time).

lead by Payton Manning they are 9-1

Payton Manning and the Broncos have done amazing things. These include: blocking a punt, many interceptions, a couple recovered fumbles, and many other
amazing feats.
Mike Shanahan was head coach while John Elway was quarterback and was fired for Josh McDaniels and then for John Fox

They also got Payton Manning (a fantastic quarterback from the Colts)

They are 9 and 1 right know and top of the AFC West
