in April 21, 2003. She started playing piano as a child at church, and later tried classical piano. Devil's Music In 1958 she records her debut album: Essential part of the civil rights movement. "Blacklash Blues",
written by poet Langston Hughes. Features:

Minimal instrumentation.
Simple chord progression with heavy vocal improv.
Uses breaks to protray feelings.

Blues:

12 bar blues progression
Call-response lyrics.
Socially charged lyrics.
