THE HEART RULES!
FUNCTION
Transports substances inside the body (blood, nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, wastes).
THE HEART
One of the major organs in the circulatory system.
COMPONENTS OF BLOOD
AND FEATURES
RED BLOOD CELLS: Transport oxigen
Contains haemoglobin

WHITE BLOOD CELLS: Protect against diseases
Can change the shape

PLATELETS: The smallest of the blood cells
Prevent bleeding - Help clotting

PLASMA: Transport nutrients and proteins
A light yellow liquid
BLOOD CIRCULATION
It's the continual flow of the blood from the heart,
through branching arteries, to reach and traverse
the microscopic vessels in all parts of the body.
ACTIVITIES:
1. COMPLETE THE WORD MAP:
MAIN FEATURES OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

Releases oxygenated blood through the arteries
Pumps blood
Receives oxygen deprived blood from the veins

TYPE OF BLOOD VESSELS:
FUNCTIONS:
ARTERIES: Carry oxygenated blood away from the heart.
Dealing with high blood pressure flow.

CAPILLARIES: Carry oxygen rich blood away from your heart
to the extremities of your body.

VEINS: Carry blood back to the heart.
