Ivan Printing Process Thermal Transfer Mode Printers Maintenance and Repair Best uses of Thermal Printers Thermal transfer printing is a digital printing process in which material is applied to paper, by melting a coating of ribbon so that it stays glued to the material on which the print is applied. It contrasts with direct thermal printing where no ribbon is present in the process. Thermal Printers are use for mailing, small parcel delivery, retail and the food industries where most items are stored away from heat and sunlight, and the expected life of the label is less than 1 year. The printing process of the thermal printer(or direct thermal printer) is a digital printing process which produces a printed image by selectively heating coated thermochromic paper, or thermal paper as it is commonly known, when the paper passes over the thermal print head.
