based on state population
South Dakota-Kristi Noem Senate 100 total members
each state equally represented
South Dakota has 2- Tim Johnson & John Thune makes the laws
approves the appointments made by the President
can over-ride a veto with 2/3 vote
can declare war sees that laws are obeyed
can veto laws
appoints government leaders
Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces
elected for 4 years- can serve 2 terms President decides what the laws mean
settles arguments between the states
decides if laws agree with the constitution Supreme Court & other courts
