Transcript of Wind Energy
WIND:air in natural motion, as that moving horizontally at any velocity along the earth's surface
ENERGY:Usable power (as heat or electricity); also : the resources for producing such power
Wind energy is powered by wind
renewable or non renewable
It's renewable for a little bit of people because wind is always there.Wind turbines normally do not get a lot of energy but will still be providing some energy.
what does it look like
How does it work? How is the energy harnessed?
STEP 1:the wind pushes against the turbine. This makes the blades spin. While this is happening some of the energy of the air is changed into mechanical energy.
STEP 2: The mechanical energy of the turbine gets transferred to the generator. (the generator holds the energy)
STEP 3: The generator transforms mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Positives and Negatives on the environment
Positives:it is a natural way to gain electricity.
Negatives:You will need a lot of Wind turbines to provide a proper amount of energy taking up space for land.
The sharp blades kills birds.
Is It A Sustainable Form Of Energy For Australia's future? Why/Why not?
Not everyone can use Wind energy because there will not be enough energy to let us do what we need to do. This means that we need another type of energy? What energy do you choose?
