Patient 9
Patient Nine is a 21-year-old male staff sergeant who just finished a tour of duty overseas. Since he has been back, he has experienced a constant buzzing sound in his left ear. Hearing tests show a mild sensorineural hearing loss in his left ear with Tinnitus.
Caused by abnormalities in the hair cells of the organ of Corti in the cochlea
Can be acquired through:
prolonged exposure to loud noises
autoimmune diseases
Ear wax removal
Hearing Aid
Masking devices
White Noise Machine
Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Ringing of the ears
Symptom of hearing loss
Not serious but may worsen with age
