GLC2O0B Who is a Dentist? Requirements for Becoming a Dentist? Relation to Self-Assessment How much do you get paid? How many hours do people work as a Dentist? What types of jobs are similar to a
Dentist? What sort of skill set do you need? Certifications Where are Dentist programs offered in Canada? Bibliography A dentist is a person who deals with teeth, gums, mouth and diagnoses and treats the problems with your oral health. A dentist also gives helpful advice to prevent the problem from occurring again. -Academic course work on the undergraduate level should include anatomy, chemistry, physics, and biology
-basic pre-dental education courses (maths and sciences) that must be completed before enrolment in dental school
-Attending dental school is a huge financial and time commitment
-You will spend a minimum of 4-5 years at dental school
- one admission requirement for all Canadian dental schools are the submission of Dental Aptitude Test (DAT)
The programs needed to become a dentist in Canada are all in universities.

-Most Dentists work full time
- Some work evenings and weekends to meet their patient’s needs.
So pretty much it mostly depends on your patients and the conditions they are in.

Dentistry reflects to my self-assessments because on the Interest Sorter I got people person. I am a people person because I love to help people, when they are in need of it, I am very generous to others and I always want people to be happy, and not depressed. Dentistry also reflects to my value of benefitting society, this is because being a dentist is helping people who have problems with their mouth, teeth and gums. Nowadays a lot of people are having problems with their teeth and I would like to help them all.
