John Calvin -Theologian -Reformer -Scholar Calvinism Reformed Theology Protestantism Martin Luther -Monk -Reformer -Pastor What does Calvinism mean? Origin: Historical Figures Huguenots Protestant Reformation- 1500s Beliefs: T Total Depravity U L I P Unconditional Election Ephesians 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. Limited Atonement This is more of a logical argument than a Biblical one. Some Calvinists don't feel the need to accept "Limited Atonement" for the reason that Christ died for the whole world. One thing is sure- no one who does not accept Christ as Savior and Lord will not spend eternity with Him. Irresistable Grace "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:37-40 Perseverence of the saints If you are saved, you can't become unsaved They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. 1 John 2:19 The End
