Infrared radiation heat permeates through some materials
Infrared (IR) light is electromagnetic radiation with longer wavelengths (700 nanometres (nm) to 1 mm)

frequency range : 430 THz down to 300 GHz

There are 3 types of Infrared light:
Low power requirements
Low circuitry costs
Simple circuitry
Higher security
High noise immunity
Line of sight
Blocked by common materials
Health Risks:burns, blindness,cancer and leukemia

• Near-infrared (near-IR) -
Closest to visible light,
wavelengths range : 0.7 - 1.3microns
used by a lot of electronic devices,e.g. remote controls

• Mid-infrared (mid-IR) -
wavelengths range:1.3 - 3 microns
used by a lot of electronic devices,e.g. remote controls

• Thermal-infrared (thermal-IR) -
the largest part of the infrared spectrum
wavelengths range: 3 microns - over 30 microns

The major reason of this is that these applications are convenient.
These advantages help people a lot and let them more willing to use infrared radiation application in their daily lives.
