In this unit, we were discovering
who we are. We, as a team, discovered that we are a group of people that are passionate about nature, especially water. Water Facts
75% of the earth is covered with water
97% of the earth's water is in the oceans
Only 3% of the earth's water can be used as drinking water
75% of the world's fresh water is frozen in the polar ice caps Peru's water waste issues
Lack of information Leaking Faucet Facts
Leaking faucets can cause a great amount of waste:
Toilet leaks can waste 200 gallons of water per day! That's about the same amount as flushing the toilet 50 times without a reason. Leaking faucet facts
A leaking faucet that drips at the rate of 1 drip per second can waste 30,000 gallons per year!
A shower head leaking at 10 drips per minute can waste more than 50,000 gallons per year! Save Water! Leaking faucet problem
One of Peru's concerns about water, is leaks. Pipes in Peru are estimated to be about 40 years old. Leak consequences
