1983: Motorola DynaTAC created - First portable phone. Timeline of the Telephone
By: Jeremy Baker It all began when people started to send letters... 1794: Telegraphs were created. 1844: Telegraph was made succesfully by Samuel Morse. 1892: First desk phone was created. 1915: The first transcontinental call was made. 1924: Model 102 created (oval shaped base) 1930: Model 202 created. (circle shaped base) Not many phones were made during WW2 so the model 202 stayed in service for a long time. 1996: Motorola StarTAC created. It was the first pocket sized phone. 1998: Nokia 8810- More durable and better service with an antenna. 2002: Nokia 7650- First phone with camera. 2004: Motorola V3 created by Motorola. 2006: LG Chocolate was made. 2008: Apple iPhone 3G.
