The declaration of independence was the statement of the America's independence. The colonies stated there independence by pulling down king George the third as an act of rebellion.

During the American Revolutionary War, was the first move in a surprise attack organized by George Washington against the Hessian forces in Trenton, New Jersey on the morning of December 26. Planned in partial secrecy, Washington led a column of Continental Army troops across the icy Delaware River in a logistically challenging and dangerous operation.

Valley Forge was a sixth month encampment for the colonial army. This time was very harsh for the army. Many soldiers died from sickness and lack of food. Almost half of the army was sick at one time.
