Unit 3: Japan From Isolation to Adapatation Clear Targets: I can describe how the Japanese government affected its’ society’s worldview.

I can demonstrate my understanding of the Japanese social class systems and hierarchies.

I can explain how time reflects the changes in a worldview.

I can explain how the Edo government tried to protect the Japanese worldview by isolating it’s people.

I can describe how the Meiji government’s openness to foreign influences led to rapid adaptation and a shift in worldview.

I can explain how a society’s worldview will influence its choice to be isolated or to adapt.

I can demonstrate that there is a connection between history and my life regarding worldview. Discussion Questions:

If you had the choice to live in a society that isolated itself or in a society that adapts based on outside influences (rapid adaptive response), which would you choose? Why?
