School Dropout Rate Alabama succeeded in raising its high school graduation rates from 62% to 69% between 2002 and 2008. The status dropout rate declined from 12% in 1990 to 7% in 2010. Nationwide, only 63% of latino students in the class of 2009 earned a high school diploma, compared with 79% of white students and 81% of Asian-American students. Nearly 310,000 Latino students will fail to complete high school in 2012, and half of those dropouts will come from California and Texas. Effects You won't get a college degree. How to Avoid You finish school and not dropout. You won't get a good job. Be friends with people who are doing something good.
