Help Desk Outside these hours help is
always available from the
Issue Desk. The Help Desk is staffed
10.30 - 1.30 each day. We can help with finding
information, using print
and electronic resources,
referencing... just ask! Got a question? Online Catalogue The catalogue will tell you if an item
is available and where to find it. You can search by author, title,
or subject. The Online Catalogue gives details
of all the Books and DVDs in the
College Libraries HE Study Room It has 8 PCs which can be
booked at the IT Help Desk. It also houses the Education
resources. The HE Study Room is for
Higher Education students only. Group Viewing Room This room can be booked through the IT Help Desk. It has a PC, DVD player and
large screen. Useful if you are preparing a
presentation or watching a DVD. The Group Viewing Room
seats up to 8 people. Careers The careers collection includes:
*UCAS information
*University guides and prospectuses
*Careers guides
*Job hunting advice, e.g. help with
applications and interviews. For more information on careers visit the College Careers Service. Study Skills We have a collection of books on study techniques:
how to improve you research, reading, note taking, revising,
time management etc. Want to save time and study more effectively? Fiction Also Quick Reads - short books
by well know autors for when
you're in a hurry. A collection of general fiction,
including thrillers, adventures,
science fiction, love etc. Guides Electronic copies are available in
the i-Skills area of the Library website. These include:
*subject guides
*e-resource guides
*information skills guides
*IT helpsheets. A range of guides and helpsheets
are available. Newspapers and magazines Back copies can be fetched for you. We take a number of national
and local newspapers. Current copies of magazines are
on display near books on the
same subject. Useful for a group of people who want to work together. Larger groups can use
the Tutorial Room. The group tables can
seat up to 6 people. The 'Pods' The 'Pods' are
for quiet study,
either on your own
or with 1 other
person. Individual Study Tables This is a quiet area, for people
who want to work on their own
without disturbance. People who want more quiet
can use the Silent Study Room. The 'triangles' are for individual study. Tutorial Room Useful for larger groups
working together. The Tutorial Room seats
up to 15 people. It has a big table and
a white board. This room can be booked through the Issue Desk. Silent Study It has 13 computers
which can be booked
at the IT Help Desk. The Silent Study Room
is for people who want
to work alone and
in silence. It also has 8 general
study desks. Main IT Area The Main IT Area has
47 computers, which can
be booked at the IT Help Desk. Issue Desk There is always someone
here to provide help. We sell stationery. A number of courses also
hand in assignments here. Borrow and return
resources here. Quick Access Computers Log straight on -
