Video: The Water Cycle Rap
Did you know that all the water on the Earth right now, is the very same water that's always been here?
Important Concept:
Deep Thoughts:
Sun
Solar + Radiation = Solar Radiation
Energy transferred from the Sun to the Earth!
Radiation
There are lots of 'shun' words (words that end in '-tion' .) For awesome prizes, how many did you hear?
Let's get
started:

Main Idea:
1. The water of the earth is constantly in motion, AND...
2. Every drop moves through this cycle, changing state along the way.
Objective(s):
1. The student will be able to demonstrate understanding of water movement through the cycle by accurately labeling the water cycle.
The sun is the power source that enables the water cycle.

Write the following terms in the boxes of your handout:
* Evaporation
* Condensation
* Precipitation
* Liquid Gas
* Causes Erosion
* Forms clouds
* Runoff
* Infiltration
* Transpiration
* Solar Radiation
* Gas Liquid
Evaporation
Condensation
Runoff
Infiltration
Transpiration
Precipitation
Liquid water changes to a gas
Water vapor cools and clings together forming clouds
Water droplets grow larger and heavier until they fall as rain, sleet, hail, or snow
Rain water that runs down across the land
Water under the ground
Water that evaporates from plants
* Solid to a liquid
* Liquid to a gas
* Gas to liquid or solid
(ice, snow, sleet)
Water changes through all 3 states:
(Think Aloud)
Evaporation
Condensation
Transpiration
Precipitation
Infiltration
Runoff
Process
State of water before the process?
State of water after the process?
Cause
liquid gas water heats
liquid gas evaporation/plants
no change gravity

Part II: Write a paragraph explaining how YOU (as a drop of water) move through the water cycle.
