Warsaw Radio Mast Collapse What it was The Warsaw Radio mast was a radio tower located in Warsaw, Poland.
Before it's collapse in 1991 it was the tallest structure in the world, at a height of almost 647 m. Even today, it is the second tallest structure ever built. What happened to It On August 8th, 1991, the mast collapsed. First the mast bent, then snapped at approximately half it's height. What caused the failure After the collapse, it was decided that the structure collapsed because of an error exchanging guy wires.
