T.V shows like The hills and Jeresy Shore are reality shows that are being filmed 24/7. Networks pick and choose the most dramatic and juicy scenes to keep viewers watching. They created a different reality for people watching rather than showing the real world.
MEDIA ARE BUSINESSES WITH COMMERICAL IMPLICATIONS
The media is a multi-billion business that just wants the consumer to buy their product to make money
Media companies produce goods and services that they would want the consumer to buy.
Ads such as Got Milk ask professional athletes or celebrities to promote healthy drinking. When looking at the signature of the ad, which is the milk stach.It makes a focus to attract consumers to drink milk as a healthy living to give them the idea they can be like the celebrity or professional athlete.
MEDIA USE FORMS,CODES AND CONVENTION
Media messages are manipulated by the form of all media around us.
codes and conventions are ways of subtlety providing information to the consumer, without them noticing.
Every movie you watch either a chick flick to a grusome movie their is a critria they must forfill. Making the movie predictable. For example a Disney movie like A Cinderella story, the story has a bad beginning to her everyday life,she meets the guy of her dreams, falls in love but he doesnt know the girl, they fight and something terrible happens, they forgive kiss and make up and live happily ever after.Giving them a standard that all love movies have.
