Hoped to become an artist.
Homeless - Postcard painter
Joined the German Army with the outbreak of war in 1914. Hitler won 5 medals during the war including the 'Iron Cross.'
Devasted by Germany's defeat in 1918 - Germany 'Stabbed in the back'
Formed at the beginning of the 1920's as
'The German Workers Party'
Hitler would quickly become leader in 1923

The German economic collapse ended when the USA helped Germany by giving it huge loans through the Dawes Plan.
In 1924, the French left the Ruhr and a new German currency, the Rentenmark, was issued.
With the loans of money from the USA, Germany recovered and a time of political and economic stability followed.
His main role was as Foreign Minister from 1924
He signed Germany up to the Dawes Plan in 1924
He built up Germany’s prosperity again although all of Europe was recovering .

In 1925 Germany, together with Italy, Britain, France and Belgium signed the pact.
