Transcript of What is Twitter?

What is ?
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as
Tweets? Yes!

Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers.
140 characters. So it's like sending a text message from your phone?
When you write your message, you don't choose the people you want to tell your thoughts to, instead you just shout it out to the cloud of the internet.
when you send your message you don't expect anyone to reply to your message - although eventually some will. after you sent your tweet, your followers will get that piece of text on their start page, so they can read it and know what you're thinking.
So basically when you "tweet", your followers will automatically be able to read your tweets. But if someone visits your twitter page (twitter.com/username) they can read your tweets too. So be carefull what you write, you don't want anyone know your deepest secrets. :)
That's all you need to know
I hope you get the basic idea of Twitter now, and next time your friends talk about it, you can join the conversation! Good luck!
Twitter is this new big thing, everyone is talking about everywhere, but you have no idea what it is?

Well, it's about time you check this prezi out.
Well, not exactly. You see, when you're writing an SMS message from your phone, you have one - or a couple - of recipients who can read your message, but no one has access to them, except you and the recievers. At Twitter it's different. Let me explain it for you.
