Borderline by Allan Stratton
Racism, trust, religion, and tradition are the theme because the whole story revolves around how each of these affect him.
The settings take place in New York for the most part. where the Sabiri's live in an all white neighborhood. Mr. Sabiri also takes business trips to Toronto. Which is where Sami finds out the truth about his father.
The story is told from his perspective, the book shows how he reacts to being bullied, finding out about his father, and go on crazy adventures with his friends.
Point of View
My father being held by the FBI!! I should have expected something like this. He's been acting strange lately and more irritated then usual. There is nothing I can do to help and even if I could do something I probably wouldn't. He didn't believe me when I need his help why should we believe him. Once I saw my mom's face after she got off the phone while the lawyers i knew there was no chance at helping him, I had to face the truth... my dad is a terrorist.
Alternate Ending
Life's not easy for Sami Sabiri since his dad stuck him at a private school where he's the only Muslim kid. But it's about to get a lot worse. When Sami catches his father in a lie, he gets suspicious.... He's not the only one. In a whirlwind, the FBI descends on his home, and Sami's family becomes the center of an international terrorist investigation. Now Sami must fight to keep his world from unravelling.
