Joseph Goebbels By: Claire Schumann What was he in charge of? What did he influence? Why did Hitler trust/work with him? About Goebbels Joseph Goebbels was a German politician and Reich minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945.
He was one of Hitler's closest associates and was the chief architect of the Kristallnacht attack on the German Jews, which historians consider to be the commencement of the Nazi violence closing in the Holocaust.
Goebbels had power over power over all German radio, press, cinema, and theater. He influenced the public with the use of media.

Hitler worked with him because his work as a propagandist aided Hitler's rise to power in 1933. By exploiting mob emotions and by employing all modern methods of propaganda Goebbels helped Hitler into power. When Hitler seized power in 1933, Goebbels was appointed Reichsminister for propaganda and national enlightenment. He also regimented all German culture.
