*The Taj Mahal was started in 1632 AD and completed in 1648 AD, but it took an extra 10 years to finish the garden and surrounding buildings.
*The Taj Mahal has a large dome that surmounts on the mausoleum and 4 smaller domes on the corner on the bigger dome.
History
*In 1631 AD, the emperor of the Mughal, Shah Jahan, was grief-stricken when his favorite of his three wives, Mumtaz Mahal, died.
*The leading architect of the Taj Mahal was Ustad Ahmad Lahuri.
The Construction
*The Taj Mahal has four minarets in each corner, which frames the entire Taj Mahal.
*The House of Wisdom was found by Caliph Harun al-Rashid ,but soon his son Al-Ma'mun took over
Influences
*Inside of the Dome of the Rock is a big rock.
*Today: It is one of the most important mosque
* The Dome of Rock was built by Raja Ibn Haywah and Yazid Ibn Salam
*Today: It is also a famous place to visit and it is very religious.
*In AD 1258, the Mongols invaded Baghdad and destroyed everything including the House of Wisdom.
*The books were thrown into the Tigris River and the river became black because of the ink
*The Taj Mahal is made out of marble and is inlaid with precious stones.
*On top of the bigger dome is a finial.
*Inside of the Taj Mahal, there is two fake tombs that replicates the actually real one.
*The real tombs are in a bottom chamber below the Taj Mahal.
Past: The Taj Mahal included designs that were influenced by the Persian Empire
*According to the Jewish tradition the rock symbolizes that Abraham sacrificed his son, Issac, there but according to the Islamic tradition the rock symbolize the place where Muhammad went to heaven accompanied by Gabriel
Past: It influenced the Islamic society because it was a place where you visit the tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal
*Outside of the Taj Mahal is a garden or a courtyard
Today: The Taj Mahal is one of the 7 great wonders in the world
Today: The Taj Mahal is one of the biggest UNESCO (United Nation Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. World Heritage Site.
Past: It also influenced the architecture of many other buildings later on such as, the Mausoleum of Sultan

*The House of Wisdom is a place where scholars met up with each others to talk about their ideas.
The House of Wisdom wasn't influenced by anything but it influenced people in their time and us by allowing scholars to meet up together to create:
*Algebra
*Chemistry
*Astronomy
*Medicine
*Geography
*Zoology
*They also translated many writing in Arabic

The construction, history, and influence of:
*The Dome Of the Rock was built between AD 685-691 in Jerusalem.
*The Dome of the Rock was ordered to be built by the Umayyad Caliph, Abd al-Malik because the land was empty after the destruction of the second Jewish Temple
*On top of the dome of the Rock is a big golden dome, which you can never miss if you are looking at the mosque.
*The dome is supported with an octagonal building with columns that supported it also.
*Blue and golden tiles were installed to decorate the outside of the dome.
*The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum, which is a housing for a tomb
