Transcript of Easter 2010

Easter 2010 World Cup 2010 Mandela expressed the hope
that this year's showpiece
would provide hope,
encouragement and joy
for the entire African continent.
Do you not know
that the runners in the stadium all run in the race,
but only one wins the prize?
Run so as to win.

Every athlete exercises discipline in every way.
They do it to win a perishable crown,
but we an imperishable one.

Thus I do not run aimlessly;
I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing.

No, I drive my body and train it,
for fear that, after having preached to others,
I myself should be disqualified.
May the light of freedom
enlighten the hearts and minds of the oppressed of the world

May the light of respect
enlighten the hearts and minds of those who abuse and oppress

May the light of hope
enlighten the hearts and minds of those who live in darkness and fear

May the light of forgiveness
enlighten the hearts and minds of those who have suffered much

May the light of friendship
enlighten the hearts and minds of those separated by misunderstanding

May the light of love
enlighten the hearts and minds of all who feel lonely and unloved

May the light of the Risen Christ dispel the darkness of our hearts and minds
May Easter Joy and Light
fill your life
