Using our strengths in 2014
At work, I have the opportunity to do what I do best, every day.
Often, we take the path of MOST resistance.
We do it because we love watching:

We were tired of living in a world that revolved around fixing our weaknesses.
Everyone who said they don't have the opportunity to do what they do best also said they were emotionally DIS-engaged at work.
People who DID get to do what they do best at work were 6 times as likely to be engaged in their job, and 3 times as likely to say their quality of life is excellent!
If you have a dominant strength in the executing domain, you are good at implementing a solution. You'll work tirelessly to get something done. You have an ability to take an idea, and transform it into reality within the organization that you lead.
If you have a dominant strength in the influencing domain, you're selling the team's ideas inside and outside the organization. When someone is needed to take charge, speak up, and make sure the group is heard, it's good to look to someone with the strength to influence.
If you have a dominant strength in the relationship building domain, you're the glue that holds teams together. You keep distractions away, and the energy level high. You can transform individuals into a team that's capable of carrying out complex projects and goals.
And finally, if you have a strength in the strategic thinking domain, you're constantly keeping people focused on "what you could be" and are pulling the team and it's members into the future. You continually absorb and analyze info and help the team make better decisions.
