Transcript of Assistive Robots

By: Iyana and Logan Assistive Robots What task does the robot perform? They help people do things that they cannot fully accomplish. These types of robots help people everyday with either big or little problems.

Ex. If man had fallen out of bed and couldn't walk at all, then he would have his assistive robot to get the phone and call for help. Where is the robot used? They are mostly used in homes for most disabled people who can't reach or walk over to an item. Some others are in hospitals that help patients with little stuff like getting the remote, or there pain medicine. Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? It is multi-functional, it have the:
Statically Stable Locomotion= Legs
Manipulation (Prismatic motion and Rotary motion) How is the robot taught to perform its task? Programming engineers put together instructions for the robots to perform. Some are controlled by a laser pointer, joy stick, or by voice to perform a special task.

After they perform that task, the engineer can instruct the robot to store that task to be used for later. What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors? Name some advantages and disadvantages of using a robot to complete this task. Advantages

Supply of Power The robot has many sensor but Infrared and Photocell sensors are the main two.

The sensors are used to see objects around them and to figure out how long of a distance it has to go in order to get to that object. Describe the impact that this robot has had or could have on its intended audience. It had a huge impact on people who aren't able to move around as much but are able to control the robot that when ever they want and they could have it get the stuff they need in a quicker amount of time. What type of jobs/careers can this robot create to provide employment for people? People can make sure that the robot is in good condition and will be able to keep it working properly. Also people can update the robot with new actions and voice recognition.

And if its possible, some people could have jobs where they can make different colored robots! Prediction Time!!! This robot would evolve into a bigger, better robot that will help more people with bigger jobs that may wouldn't be able to perform now! Extra
