The scout brotherhood fund is Canadian Scouting's
largest financial contributor to World Scouting developing communities around the globe in countries that need it.
This involves Scout groups in less fortunate countries doing projects that improve their quality of life as well as their whole village's.
Close to 15% of all scout trees' revenues goes to this fund (held every year). Most troop fundraisers go into this fund.
An example of the Brotherhood fund being put to
use is in 1998, a hurricane devastated cities in Nicaragua, and the Brotherhood fund was there
to contribute $20,000 to community
THREE OF THE PREVIOUS WORLD JAMBOREES
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is a worldwide, non-profit organization that promotes the Scout Movement. It tells people what Scouting is all about and tries to keep the movement going and growing.
It was founded in 1922 and is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
It represents 162 national Scout organizations with 36 million members.
The first event was in 1907, Baden-Powell's experimental camp on Brownsea Island, England, which brought together 22 boys from different parts of society.

The World Scouting Bureau is the secretariat of the World organization. The Bureau is directed by the Secretary General of WOSM.
The World Scouting Bureau consists of a Central Office and six Regional Offices. The head office is in Switzerland.
The Bureau administers training, sets policies and plays a part in arranging the World Jamboree events.
The Bureau was first established in London, England in 1920, moved to Ottawa, Canada in 1959 and has been located in Geneva, Switzerland since 1968.

The event was held for 12 days between 27 July and 8 August, 2007 in Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex in England.
Over 38,000 Scouts and leaders from 158 countries attended. The theme was "One World, One Promise".
The 22nd World Scout Jamboree took place in Rinkaby, Kristianstad, Scania in southern Sweden from 27 July to 7 August 2011. The theme was Simply Scouting. 40,061 Scouts, leaders and adult volunteers participated from 166 different countries.
This jamboree was held in a naval base in Sattahip, Thailand in 2003. The event lasted 12 days and was themed around Asian culture. 30,000+ Scouts attended the 20th World Jamboree.
