Rumpelstiltskin
A story about lying, foolish decisions, and over confidence.
After a miller lies to the king about his daughter's talents he gets his daughter stuck in an almost impossible situation. The daughter is left to turn straw into gold for her life knowing she cannot do it. She is soon rescued by a small who does it for her for a peice of her jewelry. The forces her to do it again and once again the small man saves her for a peice of her jewelry. On the third night the to turn the straw to gold the small man demands her first child. When the king has gotten all the gold he wants he makes the daughter his bride and they later have a child. The small man comes for the child and the only way she can keep it is if she finds out his name. She searches far and wide until she comes upon a small house in the woods and hears a man singing. The man sings,"Today i bake tomorrow I take the young queen's daughter. I am glad that no one knew that Rumpelstiltskin is what I'am styled. The next day when the small man comes to claim his child and asked what his name is the daughter replies Rumpelstilskin. Rumpelstilskin is shocked that she knew and stomps his foot so hard in the ground that when he treid to pull it back up he ripped himself right in half.
