Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins Book 2 in the hunger games trilogy The Setting The quotes The mood Genre: science fiction Suzanne Collins has written: the Underland Chronicles and the Hunger Games trilogy Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch. Katniss, Peeta and Gale. Prim and her mother. Effie Trinket President snow cinna katniss' mockingjay pin The main characters in this book are: Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Haymitch, Cinna, and Finnick. The Characters and plot This book is the continuation of Katniss Everdeens struggle with the capitol. The book starts out with her and peeta traveling throughout the districts because they were victors.they won the 74th hunger games by katniss defying the capitol by threatening that there would be no victor. On this Victory tour, Katniss sees people being shot and things she is not supposed to see. After katniss returns from this journey she goes hunting in the woods. While doing this she meets two strangers. They were fleeing to district 13. The disrict they were in had an uprising. Katniss realizes these uprings are because of her and realizes all of her friends and family are in danger. Then her district becomes filled with peacekeepers. The guards for the capitol. Then something happens she did not ever imagine. She is sent to the Quarter Quell. Which is the 75th hunger games. After she is sent back to the games she makes an alliance with people she never thought she would. This book is set in post-apocalyptic North America. It is called Panem. At The beginning of the book they are in District 12. For the rest of the book they are in the arena for the Quarter Quell. The Characters The arena is an island. They stay on the beach where its the safest. The overall mood of this book is very dark.
As you read it you are expecting something bad to happen. The tone The overall tone of this book is dramatic and horrific. The overall lesson The lesson you get from this book
is know who your friends are.
And remember who the enemy is. "I'm staring into the snakelike eyes of president snow. -Katniss Everdeen This quote portrays the evilness of President snow "Tick Tock. This arenas a clock."-Katniss Everdeen This quote shows the epiphany Katniss has after she figures out the gamemakers tricks. "Katniss when your in the arena.. You just remember who the enemy is." -Haymitch This is Haymitchs advice to Katniss before she enters the arena. It has a deep meaning that she doesn't understand at first. I recommend What i thought.. This was a very very good book! It took it awhile to get interesting. I remember the last 5 chapters the most. I recommend this book to any lovers of the hunger games movie and book. And to anyone who loves post-apocalyptic books. EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!! This book is very interesting. it keeps you guessing on every page. It is a love story and action-packed book. So its for boys and girls! All in all its a great book! Thank you for listening.
