Geography 12: Five Themes Of Geography.

Location: Position on the earth's surface.
Absolute Location can be defined using latitude and longitude. It's because it refers to the exact and actual location of some specific place on the planet. These 5 photos is an example of absolute location because I included the coordinates for each photos.
Movement: Humans Interacting on the Earth.
The theme of movement focuses on how relationships between people in different places are shaped by the constant movement of people, ideas, materials, and physical systems.

The theme of movement focuses on how relationships between people in different places are shaped by the constant movement of people, ideas, materials, and physical systems.
Regions: How Places Form and Change.
A region is a basic unit of geographic study. A region is defined as an area that has unifying characteristics. Most regions differ significantly from adjoining areas.
Place: Physical and human characteristics.
The physical characteristics of a place make up its natural environment and are derived from natural processes.
Human and Environment Interaction: Shaping the Interaction.
Humans depend on the environment. This natural environment is made up of living things. Humans depend on the natural environment for food, shelter, and clothing.

Amazon Rainforest is an example of natural characteristic of place because it's created through natural processes. The forest span several countries throughout South America.

Galapagos Islands are also an example of natural characteristic of place because it is created through natural processes. Each island has an assortment of unique wildlife.
Serengeti, Tanzania.
Serengeti is an example of a natural characteristic of place because it is created through natural processes and it's a perfect place to adventure because of its iconic trees and wild animals.
Food.
Without food, humans can obviously not exist. We get our food because of the environment. From fruits, vegetables, and animals. Taking care of the environment means for food.
Shelter.
We all know, shelter protects you from different types of situations. Such as numerous harsh weather conditions and psychological rapers.
Clothes
Automobiles.
People likes to travel a lot. We use transportation to move from one place to another quickly. Such as Buses, cars, planes, ships, and etc....
Social Media.
Truck.
Products and resources are transported from one region or place to another. This includes manufactured goods, crops, veggies, or other things.
Languages.
Languages are also involved in this theme. It is based on influence from outside ideas and any other languages from different places.
Physical Characteristics of a Region.
Mt. Everest (a.k.a: The Earth's highest mountain) is located between China and Nepal is an example of physical characteristic of a region because it's a landform and a part of Himalayan Ranges.
Physical Characteristics of a Region.
Natural Vegetation is a common form of plant life. Vancouver's vegetation is varied because of often rainfall every fall/winter.
Human Characteristic of a Region.
Vancouver is one example of regions that are distinguished by human characteristics. It includes economic, social, political, and cultural features.

Recreational Area is also one example of regions that are distinguished by human characteristics. Even if it doesn't have an economic and political features, people go to this type of region to have fun.

Spotted Lake, Canada
Coordinates: 49.0781° N, 119.5669° W. This is the absolute location of the Spotted Lake. When the water starts to evaporate, it forms colorful circles.
Lake Retba, Senegal.
Coordinates: 14.8383° N, 17.2448° W. This is the absolute location of the Lake Retba. It's an extremely salty lake turned pink by algea.
Coordinates: 44°36 N 110°30 W. That is the absolute location of the Yellowstone National Park. Home of the famous “Old Faithful” Geyser.
Coordinates: 50.7374° N, 0.2477° E. This is the absolute location of the Beachy Head. A white cliffs and a little candy striped lighthouse.

Relative location is a relationship of a place to other places. These 5 photos is an example of relative location because I included the other locations that are nearby the place.
Philippines
The Philippines are located directly east of Vietnam and northeast of Malaysia and also located in both the northern and eastern hemispheres.
Trinidad & Tobago
Trinidad & Tobago is located between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean.
Barbados
Barbados is located nearby Saint Lucia, Jamaica, and Dominican Republic.
Greece
Greece is located in south-eastern Europe. It is nearby Turkey and Albania.
Nigeria
Nigeria is located in Africa. Nearby Benin and Niger.
Sahara Desert, Africa.
Sahara Desert, also known as the sea of sand. It's a natural characteristic of place because sand is obviously created through natural processes.
Antartica
Beautiful sea of ice. Also, Antartica is created through natural processes.
Place: Physical and Human Characteristics.
Human Characteristics of a place come from ideas and actions. It includes bridges, houses, and parks.
Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany.
A former castle of a king. It's an example of a human characteristic of place because it's created through human processes.
Giethoorn, Holland.
Houses in this town are only accessible by waterways instead of roads. This picture is an example of human characteristic of place.
Venice, Italy.
A city of colorful corridors and canals. It's also created through human processes. They have good food.
Machu Picchu, Peru.
Old city of Incas. Also an example of human characteristic.
Morocco, Africa.
From the brilliant marketplaces and elegant hotels, this place is considered to be one of the most exotic places in the world.
Clothes are made out of animal skins such as sheep, crocodile, snake, and cows, Clothes make us warm and it prevents nudity.
Human and Environment Interaction: Shaping the Interaction.
Humans modify the environment. People modify the natural environment to meet their basic needs. Example, they build dams, plough, and irrigate fields and dig mines.
School.
For humans, we build school to have an education, to make new friends, and to get us ready for the future.
Shopping Centres.
Humans build shopping centres to do a lot of stuff such as: watch movies, buy technology devices, buy food, clothes and more.
Restaurants.
We build restaurants to gain some weight, to have some formal dinner with VIPs or to hang-out with friends.

Humans adapt to the environment. Humans have settled in virtually every corner of the world by adapting to natural setting. Example, people in the north use heating units to warm their homes in the winter and etc......
Being Cold....
When we feel cold we put on a sweater or a jacket because our body reacts to the weather.
People in the Sahara...
People who live in the Sahara Desert use scarves to protect themselves from breathing in sands.
Movement of ideas. Social Media is a very popular and common way to share ideas especially nowadays when people are very active on using Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Vine, and Tumblr.
Fashion & Music.
Through internet, things could get viral really fast and could quickly exchange from all the different areas all over the world. A good examples are music and outfits.
Human Characteristic of a Region.
Classroom is another example of regions that are distinguished by human characteristics. It promotes social skills, communication skills, & intellect skills of students. Regions could be very big (I.E.: Province) but as small as classroom is also accepted as a region.
