State of the World
Almost half the world — over three billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day.
At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day.
Poverty in South Carolina
Now that we have looked at the world and have been slowing narrowing it down. Poverty is here in Carolina as well and we can look over it
Poverty in the U.S.
In 2013, 45.3 million people (14.5 percent) were in poverty.
In 2013, 14.7 million (19.9 percent) children under the age of 18 were in poverty.
What is Poverty?
The state or condition of having little or no money, goods, or means of support; condition of being poor.
Deficiency of necessary or desirable ingredients, qualities, etc.
But it is not just limited to just money, there is working poverty, education poverty, and many other types
What it takes to live.
Poverty is every where that we look, we are so limited in our own views. We think that poverty is the guy begging for change by the road, and that it is only in the big cites but this problem is every where and we do not need to turn a blind eye away any more.
Children in Poverty
2.2 billion kids in the world.
1 billion (every second child) of the 2.2 lives in poverty.
Child poverty rate: 27%
Senior poverty rate: 15%
Women in poverty: 19.8%
Poverty rate: 18.6%
Extreme poverty rate: 8.4%
Unemployment rate: 6.3%
Percent of jobs that are low-wage: 33.2%

Just because it is a "small" county does not mean it is not prevalent
