Rising Action
The rising action in this story is that Percy makes his way to Camp Jupiter and he meets Reyna. Then he goes to Octavian so that he can tell all the Romans that he is trustworthy and they should not kill him. Also when the Mars the God of War gives the quest to Percy, Frank, and Hazel to go to Alaska and free The God of death Thanatos.
The resolution is that before they free Thanatos he tells them that a sacrifice must be necessary to win the fight and free him and since both of them are supposed to be dead there risk there life's. In the end they free Thanatos but then they have to finish the rest of the prophesy and get back to Camp Jupiter all the way in California in just a few hours.
A theme for this book is to never give up even though it gets very tough. An example to this is that when they were fighting the battle to save Thanaos it was not easy but still they risked there life's and they one the battle.

Another theme is that you should fight for a good reason. An example to this is that Percy fought for all of his friends and for Camp Jupiter and Camp Half blood.
