all types of Matter.
Solids, gases and liquids all exist in The Milky Way.
Dark Matter
is also a type of
Dark Matter
Matter in the galaxy.
is matter which
is invisible and non-luminous.
Scientists call unknown matter
Dark Matter
Milky Way Galaxy,
Discovery Date
The Milky Way Galaxy was discovered in 1920
This discovery was very helpful for other scientists.
It let them determine the size and scale of the Galaxy.
Planets and Stars
The Milky Way Galaxy contains a variety of planets, stars and moons.
There are 8 currently discovered planets and 5 dwarf planets.
Kuiper Belt
The Kuiper Belt is a belt in The Milky Way galaxy which contains dwarf planets.
The Kuiper Belt is similar to an Asteroid Belt but is far larger.
The reason for this is because dwarf planets are too far away to calculate planets in it.
There are many possible undiscovered dwarf planets.
The biggest star in The Milky Way is the Sun.
345 moons in our galaxy.
Jupiter has the largest amount of moons in our galaxy; 64!
Mercury and Venus do not have any moons.
There are approximately 300 billion stars in the Milky Way and about 70 sextillion in the universe.
The sun is the biggest and the most important star in our galaxy.
The smallest star in the Milky Way is OGLE-TR-122b.
Pluto is a dwarf planet which is currently in consideration of becoming a planet.
How are we as humans on earth a part of our universe?
We live in the universe and if we didn't have the universe we wouldn't have life. We are a part of something much bigger than ourselves and the earth.
