Transcript of Ed Sheeran
The a team
Edward Christopher "Ed" Sheeran
I am a singer-songwriter... I play guitar, I'm kind of a geek. I'm a little bit weird... just a little. And I have successfully achieved my dream of being a musician. Also, I have received a Grammy nomination for my song "The A-Team," I have won two BRIT Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough of the Year, while "The A Team" also won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
why ed is inspiring
staying true to yourself
Eventually in the farther future, I plan on settling down and having a family, and when I do I plan on making money by selling and writing songs.
How old do you think I am??
Actually, I just turned 23 in February
I have such a unique music style that my genre in music is literally "Singer-Songwriter"
I was born February 17th, 1991 in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
My childhood was slightly depressing, and I was often bullied for my gingerness, poor eyesight, and lack of hearing in one ear. However, "Success is the best revenge for anything" not to mention I honestly feel bad for those who bullied me because none of them are in a good place right now.
I was told to stick to one genre, to change my hair, and to not keep my last name. My response to this was: well, "You Need Me, I Don't Need You."
I can't tell you the key to success but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
Before watching this let
me explain a loop pedal.
Beat boxing, rapping and the loop pedal are all parts of my music style.
I have been writing many songs and in the last year alone I wrote 120+ songs.
In the future my second album will be released on June 23, 2014 and following my album " + " this one will be named
" X ".
Despite the fame and success I will never stop being myself and freely showing my lego and cat-loving sides.
Sometimes, I will even build lego sets before concerts and later give them to a lucky fan.
I'm quite arty. I didn't know whether to become an artist or musician but I realized I could paint with music. All my songs have colors.
"I saw Damien Rice in Dublin when I was 13, and that inspired me to want to pursue being a songwriter... I practiced relentlessly and started recording my own EPs. At 16, I moved to London and played any gigs I could, selling CDs from my rucksack to fund recording the next, and it snowballed from there."
I always want to look and act like a regular person that you might actually meet, and that makes fame seem realistic. I want to be an example that you can be yourself and still become famous. However, for me being a musician was never about the fame and success but about sharing my love of music.
If I were to classify my music genre I would say it is a sort of acoustic hip-hop/soul.
In the Future...
2006 : The Orange Room
2009 : You Need Me
2010 : Loose Change
2011 : No. 5 Collaborations Project
2011 : + (1-12) + Deluxe Edition (1-16)
2013 : I see Fire
I built up my career on live shows; in one year I once played about 312 gigs, but I never expected things to turn out the way they did. Eventually I came to be signed with Asylum/Atlantic Records. Where I released my debut album " + ".
Fun Fact: I wrote One Direction's song "Little Things"
