Principal Leadership Skills
Shared Leadership: Shared Decision Making Model
Purpose of SDM is to create and promote collaboration, trust, and empowerment amongst staff, parents, and community members in decision making.

SDM team will consists of teacher representatives from each school department, graduation coach, local community agencies, elected parents, principal and one assistant principal.

Issues of Greater Importance that affect student achievement, school safety and other issues will be discussed during meetings.

School Culture Plan
*Be visible and participate in school activities and operations,
*Seek input from stakeholders
*Respect existing school and community cultures and traditions.
*Decision Making based on student safety and achievement above all.
*Diagnose the needs of the school and community and seek resources to address needs.

Data Driven Instruction Model
Leadership Team/Faculty Meetings
Purpose of the Leadership team (A-Team) is to promote, manage, and oversee all school issues & events that affect school culture, student achievement, school organization/operations and any other educational or non-educational issues related to operation of the school.

Faculty meetings will be utilized to inform, recognize, and guide all staff members in regards to important information in which they need to know.

Staff Focus Groups will be used to promote collaboration amongst the teachers and allow for shared data driven decision making.

Focus groups will analyze the strengths and needs for the school in their respective fields.

Each focus group will consist of at least 6 members.
Groups will be formed base off teachers interest, abilities and likes.

Possible groups: Communication/Parent Involvement, Rigor/Higher Order Thinking, Data, Technology, Literacy, Writing, Culture/Diversity, & Positive Behavior.

Developing & Sustaining
a Mission & Vision for the entire school community
Identify (data) strengths and areas of need of the school in order to build student achievement for the entire school community
With data, write down the goals & objectives of the school in the form of a mission & vision
Use the leadership team & teacher focus groups to observe, analyze & offer feedback to the school on the areas
of the mission & vision.
SHARED MISSION & VISION
Utilize & value input from the Shared Decision Making Team
It is important to recruit effective teachers. Strong screening and interviewing processes must be completed to analyze if a candidate is the best fit for the specific need in the school.

In order to retain teachers you must provide them with adequate support throughout the school year.

Professional Learning Communities, Training, Technology, 21st century pedagogy strategies, Recognizing/Celebrating teacher achievements are all ways to support teachers

*Regular review and revision of crisis plan
*Assignment of administrators to specific accessible locations
*Evacuation & Reunification procedures
*Lockdown Procedures (code names)

*Principal must reassure the safety of those apart of the school community while still protecting the confidentiality of those involved in any event. (Memo, letter, video or audio recording of statements).

*PRINCIPALS MUST REASSURE PARENTS THAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE SAFE AND ARE NOT AT RISK

Positive behavior Management Strategies will be developed, implemented , & revised by the Positive Behavior focus group & the Administrative team.

Teachers will be provided support through classroom management strategies and positive behavior strategies.

Teachers will consistently implement classroom expectations, rules, procedures that are aligned with the school wide philosophies and procedures over discipline.

The administrative team and entire school body with motivate students through high expectations and strong consequences for negative behavior.

The goal is for students to be in class receiving instruction as much as possible.
