What is Narrative Writing?
The purpose of narrative writing is to tell a story. You describe an experience, event, or sequence of events in the form of a story.


Important parts: Important parts:
-Beginning -Setting
-Middle - Characters
-End - Problem/resolution

Personal Narrative Writing
This style of writing is usually about an experience in your life
Use the words

Give details
Write your topic sentence; remember to think to yourself when writing your topic sentence : What is my story mostly about?
Stick to the path or subject
Narrative writing story order

Ways to HOOK your reader
Start with a:
Question
- Why left tiny footprints in my bathroom?
Feelings/Emotion:
The man's face was beet red and his screams were very loud.
Sound:
Riiing! It was 2:55 pm and the school bell rang.
Exclamation:
On no! I forgot my book bag on the school bus.
Complaint
: No I will not spend another summer at grandmas house.
Repetition:
Yes yes yes! I finally got an A in math.
Descriptions:
The air was cool, and the playground was empty.
Adjectives
: The young blonde women was tall, and had legs as thin as spaghetti.
