Parents Listen Up!!!!
Parents and caregivers play a key role in making healthy choices for children and teaching children to make healthy choices themselves.
Childhood Obesity
The percentage of children aged 6-11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2012.
Similarly, the percentage of adolescents aged 12-19 years who were obese increased from 5% to nearly 21% over the same time period
Why You Shouldn't Take the Easy Way Out
Healthy eating includes consuming high quality proteins, carbohydrates, heart-healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and water in the foods you take in while minimizing processed foods
Eating in this manner helps you maintain you body's everyday functions, promotes optimal body weight and can assist in disease prevention
...then make good decisions!!!!!!!
Start at the Beginning
Healthy eating begins at birth!
Good nutrition can lower your risk of developing a range of chronic diseases
Eating more fruit and vegetables can help lower blood pressure
It may lower your risk of certain types of cancer (colorectal, breast, lung and prostate cancer)
Eating less saturated fat may also lower your risk of heart disease
Chew on This

Eating a healthy, balanced diet provides nutrients to your body. These nutrients give you energy and keep your heart beating, your brain active, and your muscles working
Preventing Childhood Obesity
The dietary and physical activity behaviors of children and adolescents are influenced by many sectors of society, including families, communities, schools, child care settings, medical care providers, faith-based institutions, government agencies, the media, and the food and beverage industries and entertainment industries.
Portion Inflation
Today's portions are significantly larger than those of past decades
Researchers believe that the main reason Americans are gaining weight is that people no longer recognize a normal serving
Why Eat Organic Food?
Organic foods work more efficiently toward restoring and maintaining balance and homeostasis in people who consume them rather than foods fed chemicals
Herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides are intrinsically toxic by virtue of their designed function and inevitably end up as contaminants in the soil
