Mission Statement

We started at this conservatory in order to get hands on experience in the real world.
Our one and only job was marketing, in this we feel as if we had some success, due to the increase in Hartwick students that went.

Our Mission at the Conservatory
The conservatory was started semi-recently. The conservatory was founded by Christine Ryan and Joseph L. Popp. Joseph died in a car crash before the grand opening of the conservatory, it was named after him as a memorial and way to carry on his spirit in what he lives. Christine has a degree in biology and Joseph had PhD in Evolutionary Biology from Harvard
History
Goals:
Market the conservatory to a new customer base, while keeping the old one.

Raise enough money through increased revenue to allow for repairs and continuing operations for the conservatory.

Measurement of our goals:
We had a dicount system in place, for students who we influenced to be measured.

Although no students actually asked for a discount through our group, a noticable jump in Hartwick students was noticed.

Measurement of out goals:
We had a dicount system in place, for students who we influenced to be measured.
Although no students actually asked for a discount through our group, a noticable jump in Hartwick students was noticed.
One attribute to this could have been that a college discount is already in place, so the students may have thought this was the discount we were offering.

Analysis
Market.
The market for the conservatory ranges in all age groups but focuses mainly on children and school groups that come for educational purpose.

Customers.
The customers usually only come once or twice which has been an issue. The customers will come and stay a few hours, but often simply wandering around and not buying anything more than their admission.
The conservatory is earning on average about ten times more than the gift shop. That revenue is off-set by the high costs of the animals care.
Analysis
Culture and Management
Culture.
The environment is very laid back. The conservatory has a refreshing smell due to the plants being enclosed in the habitat and the music that is constant over the P.A. system is very calming.

Management
Currently there is only one employee, which is the owner. The owner does not currently use a set of books to keep track of money going in or out.
