This is hard. Harder than I expected, even with you help. But I have been practicing, and my preparations go well. I am coming to save your friend's life, and my own.
I ask two favors.
First, you must write me a letter.
Second, please remember to mention the location of you house key.
The trip is a difficult one. I will not be myself when I reach you.

When You Reach Me.
By: Rebecca Stead
The large setting is at Miranda's house. She lives with her mom and her moms boyfriend. In her house is where all the practicing for "The $20,000 Pyramid" the game show her mom is on.
The small setting is at Jimmy's (a sandwich shop) . Where Miranda and her two friends work during their lunch period. Miranda's job is to count the rolls each day and tell Jimmy (the owner).
I would recommend this book to students in Middle School, who like mysteries. There is one small mystery it is where Miranda is trying to figure out who is writing her the notes.
The conflict is Man vs. Self. Miranda has to figure out who is sending those notes. She isn't allowed to tell anyone about receiving the notes. The notes continue to come but she doesn't know where they are coming from.
Miranda mom gets a letter
saying she has been chosen
to be on "The $20,000 Pyramid".
A few weeks letter Miranda goes
home and her house is unlocked.
The next day Miranda finds a note.
And more notes continue to come.
She must now find out who is sending
her these notes and the reason for
“I don't know. I just feel stuck, like I'm afraid to take any steps, in case they're the wrong ones.”
“Trying to forget really doesn't work. In fact, it's pretty much the same as remembering.”
