The Stolen Generation What? How?
When? Who? Why? It took place from around 1945 through to the 1970s The stolen generation is a generation of Aboriginal Australian children who were taken from their families. They were forced too integrate into white society. Apology As many as 100,000 aboriginal children were taken from their parents. It was the governments policy to remove the children from their parents. The Government wanted too breed out the indigenous people. The government forced the parents of the aboriginal children to sign papers which they were not allowed to read. This made the process legal. The children were then simply taken to either a reserve or a mission.
