Soccer Invented
Countries kicked a ball around in a field for over 3000 years but the set of rules was established in 1815 by England. This is how the idea of the official sport started.
First game played
The first game of international soccer was played in 1872 between England and Switzerland, which helped the sport spread worldwide.
Soccer at Olympics
In 1900, Soccer was played at the Olympics for the first time. At the time there was only mens soccer. For soccer, this meant it would be spread throughout gaining alot of popularity from different countries.
1862 and 1863
First Football(soccer) Association was formed by 11 London schools in 1863. This helped led to the national association FIFA.
MLS is introduced as the U.S. top proffessional soccer league. This brings more soccer to the culture of the U.S. This added more soccer by adding many teams out of many cities. Jersey sales started to increase.
In 1904, France, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland worked together to establish FIFA. This was the official establishment of the international association FIFA which one increase ticket sales and meant more soccer for fans.
First international game out of Great Britain
U.S. and Canada played the first International game out of Great Britain in 1885. This helped to spread the sport around the globe and to help gain popularity.
Womens soccer added to Olympics
Introducing New things
In 1888, they introduced the penalty kick to the game. Adding this aspect to the game helped improve the tactics of the sport.
First World Cup
In Montevideo, Uruguay, FIFA hosted the first world cup with 13 teams in the torunament in 1930. This was the first championship game that led to extreme ticket sales because it was the best of the best playing.
In 1862, the first club outside of England was formed in Boston.
First Women's FIFA World Championship
In 1991 China hosted the first ever Women's World Championship. U.S. womens team won. This helped increase ticket sales with the women soccer.

U.S. Women's team wins world cup
Real Madrid Makes History 2014
Real Madrid become the first team in European history to win 10 European titles and win the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time. Thats helps with ticket sales and that helps to show people why European mens soccer is the best.
In 2015, the U.S. women's team beats Japan in a revenge game vs Japan, winning 5-2 lead by Carli Loyd with a hat trick. This is going to help to go up in sales in U.S. soccer tickets and jersey sales. This also helps to show the dominance of U.S.A. Soccer
First Indoor Soccer League
The world's first indoor soccer league was introduced in 1923 in Boston. This brought more attention to soccer in the U.S.
World Cup torunament
Every four years, the men soccer players join with other players from their country for a world championship. There is also a women's world cup where it occurs every four years and there is two years in between the mens and womens world cup.
