Soccer Soccer Before and After In soccer there are basic rules that you have to follow in order to be successful in scoring goals and winning a game. In soccer you cannot attack someone while they are running with the ball you have to find a way to take the ball with out getting too aggressive. Another rule to follow is not using your hands while playing unless you are the goalie, or if the ball goes out of bounds and you have to throw it in. Rules of the game Adidas The history of soccer In a different light Soccer players have developed a different level of playing style
to compare to the old soccer players of before. Today some
players make soccer more interesting, but in the old days the
players made it entertaining but if you compare before to after
you would consider the old players to be better but the newer players are getting there Soccer also known as football has been around for many years. The game of soccer has been updated and changed throughout the years; the players, the field, the soccer balls, the shoes etc. Adidas has a variety of soccer shoes on the market they are constantly always making new ones that are lighter and sometimes even brighter. Every time Adidas bring out a new shoe they give them a name such as F50 or predators. The game of soccer has been around for longer than
any of us can imagine. Throughout the years the rules of soccer have changed, the soccer ball, and the nets etc. It wasn't until 1815 when the rules of soccer were officially made by a college in England called Eton College. The first soccer club wasn't established until 1862 and it was called Oneida Football club. Lionel Messi Lionel Messi is one of the greatest soccer players ever. He has enhanced the game and made it entertaining and fun to watch. What makes him so great is the ball control and speed. Messi is only 5"7 and is 148lbs and still manages to fight his way through players. Currently he plays for two teams, the national team Argentina and the football club Barcelona. Currently in the La Liga, Messi is averaging 1.4 goals a game which means at least a goal every game. He is the father of one son named Thiago Messi Today there are many brands of soccer shoes. Two of the more popular shoe brands are Nike and Adidas. Some of the famous players are sponsored by a company and are forced to wear a certain type of shoe. In soccer wearing a lighter shoe, or heavier shoe is key. If you wear a lighter shoe it makes you faster, if you wear a heavier shoe it gives more power in your shot . Just like Adidas, Nike has a lot of variety of soccer shoes. The difference between Nike and Adidas is that Nike only makes lighter shoes so who ever buys the shoe will be faster than usual. Just like Adidas, Nike gives the new shoe that comes out a cool name such as vapour, and SuperFlyetc. Nike In order to score a goal, you have to get the ball into the net by using any part of your body except your hands and arms. In a soccer game there is always a referee and the his/her job is to call the game and make sure the players are safe. If a player is to attack the referee or curse at him/her the player is automatically out of the game. During the game penalty cards can be issued. The yellow card is a warning the red card means you are out of the game. Two yellow cards also get you out of the game. In the 1400-1500's soccer was just starting, they used a ball with leather wrapped around paper, cloth, or rubber to keep the ball firm so it can be kicked around. The goal posts were wooden and rectangular in shape. History of Soccer Continued Proper Shoes History of Soccer Continued Game Play The game is played with a spherical ball known as a football or soccer ball. Two teams each with eleven players (10 players and a goalie) face off by trying to get the ball into the other team's net. At the end of the game the team with the most goals wins or if they have an equal amount it results in a draw. The biggest rule in all of soccer is to not use your hands unless the ball rolls out and you have to throw it in. During the game any player is aloud to use any part of their body to knock the ball into the other teams net. Fifa World Cup The Fifa World Cup (also known as the world cup) is a huge soccer tournament that involves 32 different countries from around the world. The World cup is one of the most watched events in the world, where all the best teams are battling to be the champion. Two years before the tournament actually starts 204 countries compete to become one of the 32 teams that have a chance of becoming the winner. Finally when there are 32 different teams they get broken down into 8 groups (group A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H). Those teams battle until there are 2 teams that have the most points. Christiano Ronaldo Christiano Ronaldo is a good soccer player. He is very creative when it comes to getting past players with the ball. Although he isn't the best he has great speed and a powerful shot. He is sponsored by Nike and he is always different colored shoes. Christiano started playing professional soccer at the age of 17 and is now the age of 27 he is the father of Christiano jr. Christiano is 6"1 and weighs 185 lbs. He currently plays for the Real Madrid soccer club and has been playing there since 2009, and plays for the international team of Portugal. Right now the championship cup belongs to Spain. FIFA World Cup To earn points, you can win which equals 2 points or tie which equals 1 point. When 2 teams from each group have been selected, they move into round of sixteen which consists of 16 teams. If teams tie they shall play two halves of extra time if still no score they go to penalty shoot out and from there which ever team scores more goals wins. After that round comes quarter finals which consists of 8 teams and the same rules apply. Next is semi-finals which deals with 4 teams and the finals with 2 teams and all the rules from the round of sixteen apply. At the moment the championship belongs to Spain.
