Transcript of The Solar System

Our Solar System
-This planet is also called the red planet.
-Jupiter is the biggest planet in our Solar System.
-Jupiter is a huge Gas giant.
-It has a huge magnetic field.
-It has gigantic storms.
-There are huge storms on Jupiter.
-This called the Great Red Spot.
-This planet has many moons.
-Earth is the only planet with life.
-Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun. -The Earths atmosphere plays an important roll.
-71% of Earth is water.
-Earth is the 5TH largest planet in the Solar System.
-Earth is 4.5 billion years old.
-The Earth rotates on its axis more in March than in September.
-Due to earths distance from the sun it takes 8 minutes and 19 seconds for light to reach the Earth
- The lowest part of the earths surface is under the ocean in the Mariana Trench at 35,813 feet below sea level.
- The Earth has an iron inner core.
Earths symbol
-Jupiter has a ring like Saturn and Uranus.
-Jupiter has a mass 318times greater then the earth.
-Jupiter's volume is large enough to contain 1300 planets the size of earth.
-Jupiter is covered by an ocean of hydrogen with a sludge-like consistency.
-you can see Venus through a telescope
-Venus is the 6th largest planet
-considered Earths sister planet
-Venus probably has no life
-average temperature is over 400 degrees Celsius
-Venus is least fit for living things.
-large plains with mountain area
-Venus has fazes like Earth
-1 day on Venus = 255 Earth days
- Carbon dioxide takes up 99% of the atmosphere

It's said that a long time ago that a giant asteroid hit Uranus and caused a drastic change to it. What the asteroid did was it hit Uranus on the top part of it causing its axis to tilt almost completely horizontal. So now there are there are nights on the poles as long as 40 Earth years
-Neptune is the planet that is farthest away from the sun.
-Neptune is a huge gas giant.
-It is the coldest plane because it is farthest from the sun.
-Neptune has a small core.
-It has a ring like Jupiter.
-It has dozens of moons.
-Neptune has a diameter 4 times the size of Earth.
-It has a storm system.
-Neptune only receives 1/900 of the solar energy -that reaches earth.
-It goes around the sun every 165 years.
65 million years ago there were dinosaurs that roamed the Earth. Until a meteorite crashed into the Earth and made a huge heat explosion. All of the life that wasn't killed in the explosion was later killed because of the sun being blocked.
There is a greenhouse effect involving carbon dioxide. If this is true, Venus could have had a global ocean, but because of the green house effect eventually most of the water boiled and all of the water went into the atmosphere. Today Venus has very little water vapor.
Venus's symbol
Jupiter's storm is so big it could engulf 3 Earths. It is known as the great red spot.It is generally reddish in color and in an oval shape. It is approximately 20,000 km wide and 12,000km wide
- Mercury is the smallest planet
in our solar system.
- Its distance away from the sun
is 58 million km. away.
- 1 day on Mercury = 59 Earth days.
- 1 year on Mercury = 88 Earth days.
- Mercury is a rocky planet.
- Mercury's atmosphere = oxygen O2,
sodium Na, hydrogen H2, helium He,
and potassium K.
- Mercury has no moons.
- Mercury has no rings.
- Two spacecrafts have been to Mercury, the MARINER 10, and the MESSENGER.
- No life on Mercury.
- It can reach 800 degrees on Mercury.
- It is the closest planet to the sun.

- The Suns surface temperature is 5778
- The Sun is 92,960,000 miles from Earth.
-The Sun is almost a perfect sphere.
- Consists of hot plasma.
-The Sun formed about 4.6 billion years ago from a gravitational collapse.
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun.
Earth and Mars almost have the same day. It's day is 24 hours and 37 minutes.
People use to think there were aliens on Mars. They call them Martians.
Mars has two moons Phobos and Danose.
Scientists have found canals gullies and canyons so they think Mars use to have running water.
Mars has water but it is frozen to the poles.
Mars has the highest known volcano in the solar system.
Mars is the only planet who's surface can be seen in detail from Earth.
Mars's year is 2 times as long as Earth's year.

-Uranus is the 7TH planet from the sun.
-It has 27 known moons. The biggest five are Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon.
-17 Earth hours is 1 day on Uranus.
-Even though Neptune is farther away, Uranus is the coldest planet.
-Uranus's mass is 14 times bigger than Earth's mass.
-Uranus is one of the 4 Gas Giants.
-Uranus does not have a surface that you could stand on.
-Uranus has a 90 degree tilt
-They think that something hit it to cause the tilt
-Uranus rings are different than Saturn's.
-Saturn has rings that are a km thick.
- If you threw Saturn into a lake it would float.
-There is 60 moons orbiting Saturn
-100 times bigger than Earth
-Saturn is considered the jewel of the Solar System
-Saturn is the 2ND largest planet.
-Saturn is named after the god of agriculture.
-Saturn has over 30 known satellites
-It takes about 30 Earth years for Saturn to orbit the Sun.
- A 100 lbs object would weigh 116 lbs on Saturn.
The red planet is the planet of greek god Ares. Mars played a big role in the in the night skies of ancient people. It made its way into their lives.
Saturn probably got its rings from broken up asteroids, comets, or even broken up moons that were brought in by Saturn's very strong gravity. All of the pieces started getting pulled in and formed Saturn's rings.
Neptune is conjectured that Triton was captured
from a heliocentric orbit as the result of a collision. With what was then one of Neptune's regular satellites.

It's said that a long time ago a object hit Uranus and knocked it axis way out of whack. This object was an asteroid. It hit at just the right angle and with enough speed to send its axis almost horizontal.
Mercury is one of the more popular ancient deities. He is supposed to have killed Argus by the orders of Zeus. He helped Odysseus in his travels. Mercury does not act on his own, but he acts for his brother Apollo. Zeus often sends him to deliver dreams or to travel with a mortal to keep him or her safe..
