Transcript of Cell Analogy Project

Cell Analogy Project By Aly Wilke, Olivia Neff, Shelby Head
& Shelby Sebree The Coach compares to the Cell Membrane The cell membrane is like the coach because
the cell membrane controls what goes in and
out of the cell and the coach controls who goes in
and out of the game. Volleyball Court compares to Cytoplasm The cytoplasm is like the volleyball court because the cytoplasm is where all things happen (metabolic reactions) and in the volleyball court is where the game is played. The volleyball team compares to the Nucleus The nucleus is like the volleyball team
because the nucleus is the most important part of the cell and the volleyball team is the most important part of the game. Cells compared to Volleyball The Nucleolus compares to a line judge The Nucleolus is like a line judge because, it acts as a brain
and tells the cell what to do, like the line judge tells the ref if the
ball is in or out. The Concession Stand compares to the Ribosomes. The person selling the food is compared to the Endoplasmic Reticulum (Smooth ER). The Smooth ER is like the person selling the food because they are involved with the food being sold and the smooth er are involved with the lipids and proteins. The food at a concession stand is compared to Endoplasmic Reticulum (Rough ER). The Golgi body is like the net because it
is a membrane within the cytoplasm (the court)
and the net is within the cytoplasm The rough ER is like the food at the concession stand because it goes with Ribosomes and proteins which is the concession stand. The mitochondria is like a gym because it is the power house of the cell and the gym is where the volleyball games are played.(the powerhouse) The lysosomes are like referee's because they are used in defense to protect the cell and referee protect the teams in order to play a fair game. The centrioles are like the antennas on the volleyball net because there is one or two of them and they are located inside the cytoplasm (the court) The antenna compares to the centrioles The Golgi Body compares to the volleyball net The lysosmes compares to referee's The mitochondria compares to the gym where the volleyball court is Ribosomes are like a Concession Stand because that's where you get your food from at a volleyball game and the ribosomes are what make proteins.
